Updated on 06/10/2022

Below is the wrap up email from Jenny Stadler.  My first, my brief comments:  A HUGE Thank you to Jenny for months of tremendous work to out this meet on.  This year was a particularly challenging one with me being out of the country and then leaving again immediately on my return for a family emergency last week.  Jenny’s leadership combined with all the parents and swimmers who volunteered resulted in a hugely successful meet.  All 16 schools that attended were very happy and appreciative and STE once again proved to be the leaders when it comes to private school swimming in Houston.

Thank you to Wayne Mueller for stepping in to coach the Middle School team.

Dear STES Swim Parents,

I would like to extend a special Thank You! to all the parents who helped with the Holiday Relay Meet today. Everything went very smoothly, and I know that a few of you had to handle situations you weren’t expecting, so here’s a round of applause!!

Also, we have T-shirts left. I am attaching the picture of the shirt, for those of you that couldn’t come to the meet. I will come to practice this Friday (December 12) and have them for sale – when the swimmers are eating breakfast. $15. Cash or check only. There are some larger shirts for parents also, even a couple of XXL. These will be sold first come, first served, and  we have some of every size at this point. (So, no reserving a shirt ahead of time – sorry.)

Finally, I would like to give an extra special Thank You to Kathryn Kurie, who has stepped up to be the Coordinator for this meet next year.

See you ‘round the pool!

Sign Up for Meet Jobs - Dec. 6th Relay Meet

Updated on 06/10/2022

Hi Swim Parents –

The Meet Jobs have been posted on Sign-Up Genius. Here is the link: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/5080C44A4AD2EAA8-holiday/

Every swim family needs to provide one volunteer. If you have a child who is not on the team who would like to help, that is great! Volunteer hours will gladly be given if I need to sign something.

IF YOU CANNOT BE THERE, PLEASE DONATE FOOD, OR CASH TO COVER EXPENSES FOR THE HOSPITALITY ROOM.

If you haven’t done any of these jobs before, don’t fret. We will provide job training. But here is a brief description of each job.

Head Timer: You hold two stopwatches and start each at the start of each heat. You are the back-up in case another timer misses the start.

Runner: You will be doing odd jobs, helping in the scoring room, or whatever we need. Wear comfortable shoes.

Safety Monitor: checking the pool deck for violations of “No Food on Deck” Rule (you need to be strict and vigilant), also checking locker rooms periodically, if someone gets hurt you take them to First Aid

Hospitality: Staff the Hospitality Room. (I will be looking for someone to organize food, etc WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE THAT PERSON? Contact me – Jenny Stadler, jstadler@windstream.net)

Sell Heat Sheets and T-Shirts: Just what it says. You will be done before 10 am most likely – whenever sales drop off.

Team Check In: Helping Coach Finley with checking in the teams

Clean-Up – This starts whenever the meet is about to end. I have NOON on the sign-up, but it will depend on when the meet ends.

Any questions? Contact Jenny Stadler – jstadler@windstream.net

Relay Meet Information

Updated on 06/10/2022

Dear Parents and Families of STES Swimmers,

The 8th Holiday Relay Meet is coming up Saturday December 6th. (The meet starts at 8 am, and should be over and cleaned up by early afternoon.) This is in just less than three weeks. Please put it on your calendar, and remember that we need all families to volunteer for this meet. We are expecting over 300 swimmers – much bigger than last year, so everyone’s help is needed for it to run smoothly.

After the Polar Bear Meet is over, I will send out a link to the volunteer list on Sign-Up Genius. Please be expecting this, and grab the job you want early.

We also need a parent or two to run the hospitality room. I am happy to ask parents to donate food, etc, but we need a couple of parents to set it up, and staff it during the meet. This means you get to be in the deck area, which is nice. It is a commitment for the length of the meet. Please contact me directly if you would like to volunteer for this job. (jstadler@windstream.net).

Thanks for your help (in advance)! STES Swimming parents are the best!

Jenny Stadler

As a reminder all athletic information starting in January will be located on the new Athletic Website (www.steathletics.org). All communication will be send from the website as parents and students will be able to use a mobile app to access the information as well as receive emails.
